In the PVC pipe extrusion production line, color marking is an important part of pipe manufacturing. Color marking ensures proper identification of pipe in the field. This is very crucial in the industry.

Color marking enables companies to differentiate their products on the market. As you read through, you will know more facts about color marking and flaring of the PVC pipe production line.

Why is Pipe Marking Important?

1. Ease of Identification

Long-lasting, high-quality codes are needed throughout the lifetime of pipes. Marking helps to identify and mark specific pipes performance branding and attributes.

Markings include information of pipes such as wall thickness, pressure and temperature rating, diameter, company logo, and standards compliance. This information is used for the proper identification of the PVC pipe extrusion production line.

2. Maintenance and safety

PVC pipes come in different types to service an array of diverse industries. Pipes are used both for commercial purposes such as leach mining and irrigation, to the common purpose such as residential sewage drains systems and water piping.

Damages, accidents, and injuries to machines and equipment can be caused by not being aware of the substances that flow throw pipes. Improper pipe marking can result in mix-ups.

Color marking can provide a high level of traceable information about the manufacturers, the PVC pipe extrusion machine as well as the PVC pipe extrusion production line.

3. Market Differentiation

Pipe marking enables products to be differentiated on the market. It provides end-users assurance that the pipes are properly rated for a particular application. This contributes to increased trust, perceived quality, and sales.

4. Availability of PVC Pipe Extrusion Production Line

Different companies provide a solution for color marking on the PVC extrusion pipe. The techniques are used to give the needed quality that helps users to differentiate them easily.

Flaring of PVC pipes

PVC pipes can be flared at the end to allow another pipe to get connected or fused without the use of fitting or connector. Flaring a PVC pipe can lower the cost of construction.

There are PVC pipe extrusion machines that can flare the end of pipes for easy connection. The pipe can also be evenly heated by rolling it forward and backward under the opening of a heat gun until it becomes flexible.

Manual Way Of Flaring PVC Pipe

Step 1

Cut the PVC pipe around. Wipe with a piece of dry cloth to remove chemicals and oil from it. Check to confirm if the pipe is identical in diameter as the one to be flared.

Wrap three (3) layers of aluminum duct tape around the end. The tape will provide extra clearance due to the shrinking of a heated pipe when cooling.

Step 2

Heat one end of the pipe that needs to be flared. Turn the PVC pipe continuously and keep the flame a few distances away from the pipe to avoid burning. Check the softness of the heated pipe after a minute by nudging the tip against the floor. If it bends when touching the floor, the PVC pipe should be soft enough for expansion.

Step 3

Put the taped pipe into the softened opening. Turn the softened pipe slightly to allow easy penetration. Push the inserted pipe to at least four inches deep. Align the two pipes properly and pour water to cool it.

Wrap Up

Color marking and flaring of PVC pipes are important for safety, easy identification, effective use and replacement of PVC pipes. PVC pipe extrusion machine can mark PVC pipes easily.
